Airvolution Energy develops small onshore wind projects across the UK. We specialise in projects that are often neglected by utilities and larger wind developers, but which are vital as they feed into the local distribution network and the national grid.

Our aim is to produce electricity from wind that is generated locally, and used locally, so it is not transported over large distances and so losses are kept to a minimum. We believe this adds value, not only at a community level but also in meeting the broader UK renewable energy targets.


Where possible we also try to utilise ‘brown field’ rather than ‘green field’ development sites, aiming to keep our overall impact on the environment to a minimum. Most importantly we want to make sure we are working with the communities in which we operate, which is why we have set up our community benefit fund. In addition to receiving local renewable energy, communities can also receive an amount per megawatt (MW) of energy generated for local causes and projects where they are successful in applying for the fund.
